Base preparation

   The surface for facade plaster application must be solid, cleaned from dust, mud, oil, fats, lime, wax, chalk or lime mixtures, oil or emulsion paints. Basis with high level of absorption (cement plaster, ceramic or silicate bricks) must be treated with IVSIL BAZOVAYA (Basis) primer. Solid, non-absorbing surfaces (concrete, big size silicate bricks with smooth surface, brickwork of different materials, old brickwork of ceramic bricks, rubbles) should be sprayed with cement plaster IVSIL GROSS, layer thickness - 2,5 mm. Basis with different absorption level (brickwork of different materials) should be covered by reinforcing mesh before to apply plaster. Do not allow a waterproof cement film to be formed on the top of the first sprayed layer of plaster (scrub it with a float or a stick in 1-2 hours after application of IVSIL GROSS). The layer of spray must cover not less than 50% of the area. Further plastering jobs should be done in one day after application of the first plaster spray.

   If the curvature of the walls and there are deviations from the verticaevelling, work with the help of installed markers is recommended.

Mixing of mortar

   Dry plaster mix is poured into a mixing bucket with clean water in proportion of 1 kg of dry mix per 0,23-0,26 l of water, then thoroughly stirred manually or with the help of mixing drill, until homogeneous, elastic mixture without any lumps or clots is received. The mixture is left for 5-10 minutes and then stirred again.

   If using a mechanized application method, pour dry mix into a plaster machine and set up water feed according to the required consistence of mixture.

   Prepared facade plaster mixture should be used within 2-3 hours.


   Ready plaster mixture is applied with the help of plaster trowel to the surface in a layer of 5 to 20 mm and initially levelled and squared with a stick. In several hours (3-4 hours), as soon as the mixture starts to dry, the second layer of plaster mixture is applied filling in and levelling all uneven patches and holes. Then the final levelling is done with the help of plasterers featheredge. If the surface is being prepared for painting, after plaster mixture starts to set (in 3-4 hours after final levelling) the surface should be wet with water and smoothed by a plasterers trowel or a plasterers float.

   If necessary, levelling can be done in several layers. In this case the first layer of plaster should be roughed («combed» with a plastering comb in the form of a swallow tail) and then let to dry for 1-2 days. Besides the lower layer of plaster should be reinforced with glass fibre mesh. This mesh must be placed in 2/3 of the plaster layer thickness from the basis surface. Overlaps of mesh must be not less than 10 cm. Besides, disregards of layer thickness, reinforcement mesh should be put over joints of basis materials of different types and other critical zones.

   Time of plaster drying before application of further materials (treatment with putty, painting, tile adhesion, etc.) is 14 days.

   Thin light facade plaster (plaster mix) IVSIL THINER with economical consumption level (11-12 kg per square metre with 1 cm thickness) based on cement, lime, light filler, imported polymer additives and sand fractions of 0,5mm. Cement-lime plaster for manual and machine application (any plastering machine can be used).

   This plaster is suitable for levelling walls made of concrete, any type of bricks, rubble, porous materials, foam concrete, slag concrete, gas silicate, slag concrete blocks and porous concrete blocks. Due to high elasticity this plaster is easy to apply, float and level to a layer up to 20 mm thick. It does not crack whilst drying.

   Cement based plaster IVSIL does not require (unlike plain plaster mixes) any cuts on the surface and provide necessary bond with walls due to its characteristics. Light weight of this plaster (as compared to traditional cement plasters and sand-cement mixes for plastering) allows to decrease the load on walls and foundations up to 30%.

   Finishing-off cement plaster is easy to gloss, provides even smooth surface suitable for further application of paint or wall paper without additional treatment with finishing putty. The level of adhesion is similar to level of adhesion of tile glue (0,5 MP), which makes this plaster good reliable levelling material for most climate zones of Russia.

   Super-economical consumption of cement plaster (11-12 kg per 1 square metre with layer thickness of 1 cm, as compared to standard consumption of cement plasters: 16-18 kg and consumption of plain sand-cement mixes: more than 20 kg per 1 square metre) makes consumption characteristic of this plaster similar to gypsum plaster. It is cost effective and allows to reduce the cost of levelling. In many cases this cost is lower than plastering walls with plain sand-cement mixes.

   Cement-lime plaster IVSIL THINER is suitable for exterior facade jobs as well as for interior levelling of walls and ceilings, including premises with high humidity (bathrooms, industrial shower rooms, basements, etc). For plastering of lower parts of walls, busy areas, facade walls and also for severe weather conditions strong plaster IVSIL GROSS is recommended. Packaging and storage
The dry mix is delivered in kraft-bags of 25 kg. A storage warranty period is 6 months from the date of the manufacturing.
The consumption
The average expense 5,5 - 6 kg of a dry mix on 1 m. of a sq. surface at a thickness of a layer of 5 mm. The exact expense depends on degree of flatness (relief) of the basis.
