Base preparation

The basis must be dry, solid, cleaned from dust, mud, oil, remains of chalk and lime mixtures or paint. Prior to plastering, the basis must be treated with IVSIL OSNOVA primer, or IVSIL BASIS-BETON primer, if the basis is made of concrete or others solid, non-absorbing surfaces (big size silicate bricks with smooth surface, of ceramic bricks). Strongly absorbing bases (gaze and foam concrete, gipsum plaster, anhydrite) should be primed with IVSIL GLUBOKOGO PRONIKNOVENIYA (primer penetrator).

If the curvature of the walls and there are deviations from the verticaevelling, levelling of walls is made with the help of installed markers.

Required temperature of air and basis is from +5C to +30C.

Mixing of mortar

Dry plaster mix is poured into a mixing bucket with clean water in proportion of 1 kg of dry mix per 0,45-0,5 l of water, then thoroughly stirred manually or with the help of mixing drill, until homogeneous, elastic mixture without any lumps or clots is received. The mixture is left for 5 minutes and then stirred again. Prepared plaster mixture should be used within 1 hour.

Ready plaster mixture is applied with the help of plaster trowel to the surface in a layer of 5 to 20 mm and initially levelled and squared with a stick. If the surface is being prepared for painting, after plaster mixture starts to set (in 1 hour after final levelling) the surface should be wet with water and smoothed by a plasterers trowel or a plasterers float.

If necessary, levelling can be done in several layers. In this case the first layer of plaster should be roughed («combed» with a plastering comb in the form of a swallow tail) and then let to dry for 1 day.

Consultation on the pplication materials

Gypsum plaster (dry gypsum plaster mix) IVSIL RUST is based on gypsum bonding component and contains light filler and polymer additives.

   Upgraded recipe from December 2009!

Light grey gypsum plaster is suitable for manual plastering of walls and ceilings made of concrete, any type of bricks, stone, plasterboards or gypsum-fibre boards. This plaster is also easily applied to light porous materials: aerated blocks, foam blocks, ceramsit blocks, gas-silicate and gas concrete blocks, walls made of foam concrete, aerated concrete and ceramsit concrete.

This plaster is used for wall and ceiling levelling inside premises with normal humidity level. As it is based on the natural ecologically clean material – gypsum, it is recommended for use in accommodation premises. This plaster is easy to mix, apply and spread as a layer of 30 mm in one go. The minimum layer of gypsum plaster should not be less than 5 mm. Gypsum plaster RUST is of high elasticity, strong and has a high level of adhesion, which makes it an excellent reliable basis for further application of decorative materials. Whilst drying, it does not crack.

Finishing gypsum plaster is easy to spread and to level in order to form an even, glossy surface for further painting or covering with wallpaper. The surface treated with this plaster does not need any other finishing-off treatment. The basic price of gypsum plaster IVSIL RUST for Moscow and Moscow region is 245 roubles/30 kg.
