Base preparation

  The surface must be solid, cleaned from dust, mud, oil, fats, lime, wax, chalk or lime mixtures, oil or emulsion paints. Basis with high level of absorption (gaze and foam concrete, plasters, silicate bricks) must be treated with  IVSIL GLUBOKOGO PRONIKNOVENIYA (primer penetrator) and pre-aligned by the facade plaster IVSIL GROSS. Solid, non-absorbing surfaces (concrete, big size silicate bricks with smooth surface, old brickwork of ceramic bricks, rubbles) should be sprayed with cement plaster IVSIL GROSS, layer thickness - 2,5 mm. Basis with different absorption level (brickwork of different materials) should be covered by reinforcing mesh before to apply plaster. Do not allow a waterproof cement film to be formed on the top of the first sprayed layer of plaster (scrub it with a float or a stick in 1-2 hours after application of IVSIL GROSS). The layer of spray must cover not less than 50% of the area. Further plastering jobs should be done in one day after application of the first plaster spray.

   If the curvature of the walls and there are deviations from the verticaevelling, work with the help of installed markers is recommended.

Mixing of mortar

   Dry plaster mix is poured into a mixing bucket with clean water in proportion of 12 kg (whole bag) of dry mix per 5,4-6,0 l of water, then thoroughly stirred manually or with the help of mixing drill, until homogeneous, elastic mixture without any lumps or clots is received. The mixture is left for 5-10 minutes and then stirred again.

   If using a mechanized application method, pour dry mix into a plaster machine and set up water feed according to the required consistence of mixture.

   Prepared facade plaster mixture should be used within 4 hours.


   Ready plaster mixture is applied with the help of plaster trowel to the surface in a layer of 10 to 30 mm and initially levelled and squared with a stick.

   If necessary, levelling can be done in several layers. In this case the first layer of plaster should be roughed («combed» with a plastering comb in the form of a swallow tail) and then let to dry for 2-3 days. Besides, disregards of layer thickness, reinforcement mesh should be put over joints of basis materials of different types and other critical zones.

   Time of plaster drying before application of further materials (treatment with putty, painting, tile adhesion, etc.) is 14 days.

   Sound proofing and thermo-insulation light plastering mix IVSIL TERMOSIL is a dry plastering mix based on cement, set of polymer additives and strong long lasting porous filler – foamglas penostek*.

   Super-light thermo-insulation plaster IVSIL TERMOSIL is designed for levelling, sound proofing and thermo-insulation (thermal conductivity - 0,065 W/m*K) of houses and other constructions, thermo-insulation of communication lines of different types. It is suitable for facade thermo-insulation and as «warm» plaster for levelling and insulation of solid, stable, non-deformed walls (concrete, brickwork, foam and aerated concrete, etc.). It is applied manually or by a machine.

   It is an excellent mix for thermo insulation of walls, facade of small and multi-storeyed buildings, for exterior and interior jobs. Unlike plaster mixes based on foam-polystyrole, glass foam based plaster does not contain any flammable or toxic substance, it is long lasting, strong and is classified as top NF class (non-flammable).

   When dry, it can be smoothed by thin cement plaster IVSIL THINER or it can serve as a final, rough, textural surface stone effect type («Fur coat»), which is ready to be painted. Compared to traditional standard thermo-insulation systems (so called «wet» or bonded systems of facade thermo-insulation), sound proofing and thermo-insulating plaster IVSIL TERMOSIL has the following benefits:

   - it does not loose its thermo-insulation characteristics for many years;

   - to use this product one does not require special training – traditional plasterer skills are enough;

   - this plaster does not loose its specific characteristics in case some mistakes are made whilst setting up complicated facade insulation system;

   - time of plastering with this product is not different to using traditional standard plasters, manually or mechanically;

   - It is cost effective – you pay the price of a standard IVSIL plastering, which is cheaper than setting up a complicated, expensive facade insulation system.

   Light thermo-insulation plaster IVSIL THERMOSIL is recommended for use in the following cases:

   - facade thermo-insulation, sound proofing for walls of accommodation houses, cottages, commercial and industrial buildings and constructions as an alternative to a traditional facade thermo-insulation systems;

   - interior thermo-insulation and sound proofing of walls and ceilings in apartments;

   - thermo-insulation plastering of balconies, covered terraces, verandas, staircase landings and other walls;

   - thermo-insulation and sound proofing of any interior walls and partitions. It is an excellent material for insulation of exterior walls of corner apartments of old buildings;

   - levelling of walls with minimum load on them (for old buildings, restoration works, limited load capacity of building foundations);

   - thermo-insulation and sound proofing of any non-standard interior and exterior walls of complicated configuration.

Packaging and storage
