Base preparation

Concrete or cement basis should be not less than 28 days «old», the temperature – not less than +5° and the strength not less than 20 MP. All construction joints, gaps, cracks and holes, which can create leakage of the mixture, must be filled in. All defects must be cured. A dempfer tape must be laid along the perimeter (and columns) of the floor.

The surface must be cleaned from any dust, mud, oil or bitumen spots, paint, etc. The surface must be treated with a high adhesion floor primer IVSIL TIE-ROD. In case of capillary raise of humidity, the surface should be covered with a layer of hydro-insulation mix IVSIL VODOSTOP.

Mixing of mortar

Pour the content of a mix pack into a mixing bucket with clean water in the proportion of 1 kg of dry mix per 0,15 - 0,17 L of water and thoroughly stir it with the help of a mixing drill until homogeneous mixture is received. Leave it for 5 minutes, then stir again. Ready mixture should be used within 2-2,5 hours since it was prepared. Adding to much water to the mix may result in loosing strength characteristics of the mixture and appearance of cracks when the floor has dried.

Install screed rails in every 1,5 - 2 m. Pour ready mixture on the surface, spread and level it with the help of the walking trowel and screed trowel. If the area is more than 30 square metres, it is necessary to treat deformation joints. Do not allow draughts, direct sunshine, sharp change of temperature or humidity whilst the floor is drying. The floor basis and air temperature should be from +5C to +30C. The floor can be walked over in 24-48 hours. Ceramic tiles, parquet or laminate can be laid over the settled screed.

The floor is ready for tiling in 3-5 days. Further cover with decorative materials must be done in accordance with the instructions of manufacturer and with the necessary control of the basis humidity. It is recommended to apply finishing-off floor mix IVSIL TIE-ROD-II over the screed layer before to lay carpetlin, linoleum or other thin decorative covers. IVSIL EXPRESS-FINISH (applied after not less than 5 days) or IVSIL TIE-ROD-III (applied after not less than 14 days) can be used for the same purpose.

Consultation on the pplication materials

Strong floor levelling mix IVSIL TIE-ROD-I is made of high quality cement, fractured sand, mineral fillers and polymer additives. It is suitable for floor levelling with the layer thickness of up to 100 mm and for use over sand-cement or concrete floor screed prior to further application of decorative covering.

Floor levelling mix TIE-ROD-I is a perfect basis for hard floor decorative materials (parquet and floorboards, laminate, tiles, etc.). After being dissolved in water, this mix is movable enough to guarantee easy levelling and smoothing of the floor surface.

Strong levelling mix can sustain pressure of 200 kg per 1 square cm. That is why it is a reliable long lasting basis for most of floor covers.

It is used as levelling mix  for multilayer insulation screeds, setting up floating screeds, creation of monolith covers, levelling of slope surfaces, for levelling of floor with big level differences, for setting up heated floors systems with water, electric and infra-red heating.

Frost resistant floor levelling mix can be used for interior and exterior jobs, as a modern material for floor screed in basements, verandas, kitchens, cloakrooms, etc. The basic price of IVSIL TIE-ROD-I is 165 roubles per 25 kg.
