Base preparation

Basis preparation The basis for flooring mixture application must be properly cleaned from dust, mud, oil, bitumen, lime, paint, etc. All cracks, holes and cavities must be filled with special repair mix, like IVSIL RENDER, in order to prevent leakage of levelling mixture. The basis must be not less than 28 days old and the temperature not less than +5°. It is recommended to use reinforcement mesh for pouring floors over basis made of different materials. Dempfer tape must be laid along the perimeter of the room, around columns and other outstanding constructions.

The temperature of the basis should be not less than +5ªC. It is recommended to treat the surface with IVSIL floor primer IVSIL TIE-ROD in order to increase flooring adhesion and to fully benefit from other technical characteristics of the mix.

Mixing of mortar

Pour the content of a mix pack into a mixing bucket with clean water in the proportion of 1 pack of dry mix per 5,4-6,0 L of water and thoroughly stir it with the help of a mixing drill until homogeneous mixture is received. Leave it for 5 minutes, then stir again. Ready mixture should be used within 0,5 hours since it was prepared. Adding to much water to the mix may result in loosing strength characteristics of the mixture and appearance of cracks when the floor has dried.

Technological process of pouring this floor mix is as follows: pour the mixture starting from the lowest level point. Do not interrupt process of flooring, it should be done in one go. If the area of application is big, divide it into 30 sq. m plots and pour mixture over those plots consecutively. Roll the surface of applied mixture with needled roller to get rid of air bubbles.

Flooring mix IVSIL TIE-ROD-III can be also used for setting up heated floor systems (minimum thickness of layer over heating mats should be not less that 20 mm for water heating system and not less than 30 mm for electric heating system). The system can be switched on in 3 days after the floor was poured. Do not allow draughts or direct sunshine when working on setting up the floor.

It is possible to walk over the floor in 4-6 hours. Further application of decorative floor materials is made in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Control basis humidity level (maximum retained humidity of the basis should be not more than 2-3%, depending on the type of flooring material.

Further flooring jobs (cover with parquet, laminate, etc.) can be done after 3-5 days. It is possible to tile the floor in 1-2 days after the floor was set. All above mentioned instructions are valid for the following conditions: t=+23ªC, air humidity level 60%. In other conditions time of setting and drying can vary.

Consultation on the pplication materials

Multipurpose rapidly hardening self-levelling floor mix TIE-ROD-III is a self-levelling mix with mineral bonding components, fractioned sand and polymer additives. It is designed for the main and final floor levelling in the premises with normal level of humidity: offices, accommodation houses, apartments.

Self-levelling floor mix TIE-ROD-III provides smooth, even, horizontal surface suitable for further application of most traditional decorative floor materials (parquet, linoleum, ceramic tiles, laminate, etc.). Self-levelling floor mix TIE-ROD-III is suitable for both manual and machine application. It can be used for creating thin or thick layer (from 2 to 100 mm), which allows to use it as a floor levelling mixture for floor with big difference in levels or big uneven patches.

It is possible to walk over the floor in 4-6 hours after it has been poured. IVSIL TIE-ROD-III is easy to use, its application does not require special skills and suitable for DIY jobs at home. But it is also suitable for professional flooring jobs: pouring floors in big areas, such as office buildings, shopping centres, etc.

It is also suitable, like all other IVSIL self-levelling floors, for setting up heated floors systems with water and electric heating. It is recommended for use in cases with big floor level differences and unevenness of floor, especially when the timeframe of flooring jobs is short and it is not possible to make a screed cover first and then finishing levelling layer later.

The basic price for rapidly hardening floor mix IVSIL TIE-ROD-II is 255 roubles/pack. You can find information regarding prices of other IVSIL flooring materials in the section «Price List».
