Base preparation

The surface for plaster application must be solid, cleaned from dust, mud, oil, fats, lime, wax, chalk or lime mixtures, oil or emulsion paints. Prior to plastering, the basis and board joints must be treated with IVSIL OSNOVA primer.

Strongly absorbing bases (gaze and foam concrete, gipsum plaster, anhydrite) should be primed with IVSIL GLUBOKOGO PRONIKNOVENIYA (primer penetrator) and pre-aligned by one of repairing plasters IVSIL.

Unevenness of a walls, a crack, and a recess should be also pre-aligned.

Mixing of mortar

Dry mix is poured into a mixing bucket with clean water in proportion of 20 kg of dry mix per 6 - 6,5 l of water, then thoroughly stirred manually or with the help of mixing drill for approx. 1 minute, until homogeneous, elastic mixture without any lumps or clots is received. The mixture is left for 5-10 minutes and then stirred again.

Prepared mix should be used within 1 hour.

levelling up: Ready mixture is applied on prepared surface with a metal trowel to form a layer of 0,5 to 8 mm. A small steel trowel (30 cm) is used for partial levelling, and a two-handed trowel for whole levelling.

If necessary, several layers can be applied, providing every previous layer has already dried (in 24 hours). The basis and air temperature should be +5ºC to +30ºC. Dried layer should be polished with a fine abrasive material.

Joint filling: The ready solution is applied in the joint so that it fills the niche. Joint band is pressed to Joint Filler with a broad steel spatula. Joint filler is then applied on top of the joint band so that it fills the joint. Finally Joint Filler is levelled to the level of the boards with a wide steel spatula. After drying the joint are finished with thin abrasive material (sand paper).
